The Water Gypsies are a trio with guest featured soloists and perform European Gypsy Jazz and American Swing Classics featuring pieces by Ellington, Rheindhart, Grapelli to name a few. Their warm tone and toe-tapping friendly aura makes them a perfect festival band. They can also perform completely unplugged making them very versatile for roaming or outdoor settings. Devil’s Doorbell live on traditional narrowboats and have been thrilling audiences up and down the Kennet and Avon canal since 2017. They play authentic vintage instruments and often perform without amplification in true 1920s style. Both are experienced
performers though come from different backgrounds; Jelly was formally a drummer in a punk band, while Nipper is a well known ukulele performer and Gypsy Jazz Guitarist.
Their cheeky take on the songs of the 1920’s and unique vintage style has won them many fans. Perfect for vintage events, fayres and busking scenarios.
